At the initiative of Marta Izquierdo Muñoz – production, the CRE/IATURES – IZAKIAK project offers a multidisciplinary team made up of artists working on both sides of the border to take an interest in the figures of the wild in Pyrenean carnivals. The project is designed in two phases: a first individual immersion, then a second which will lead to a collective creation. INDIVIDUAL IMMERSIONS IN CARNIVAL (2025-2026) From Spain to France, from Catalonia, the Basque Country, the Hautes-Pyrénées, the Pyrénées Orientales, Andorra, Béarn, Aragon and Navarre, it is initially (fall 2025- spring 2026) proposed to each artist of the team to carry out a time in individual immersion before and during a Pyrenean carnival, in a village or territories chosen for their half-animal, half-human figures. After consultation with the team, it was decided that each person choose a figure as close as possible to their habitat, both for reasons of proximity to the figure, the territory and its inhabitants as well as for practical reasons.
