Marta Izquierdo Muñoz grew up in Madrid, in the working-class neighborhood of Carabanchel, during the Movida madrileña, a context which lastingly nourished her relationship with popular cultures and the margins.
She came late to dance after studying psychology, then worked in France as a performer with Catherine Diverrès, François Verret and Patricia Allio, before founding her company [lodudo] producción in 2008.
Her pieces often focus on female or queer figures torn between the margins and popular culture, and explore collective practices, whether urban, sporting or vernacular (majorettes, stick dances, roller derby, ballroom, guerrillas, paré-mask balls, etc.).
She observes the gestures, rituals and codes to make the material
of his choreographic writing. These projects generally consist of forging links and creating commonality, whether it involves working with pre-existing communities or formed for the occasion (All Styles Laboratories, Roller Lab, Pop Up Ball, Yolo…).
Established in Occitanie since 2014, it develops numerous cross-border projects and a large part of its activity in Spain. From 2025, she begins a new cycle around Cabaret and Carnival, bringing together rebellious figures of modern dance and cabaret (Rabioso Cabaret – 2026), constituting a Franco-Spanish team to work on the different figures of the wild in the Pyrenean carnivals (Creatures-  Izakiak – 2027), and paying tribute to the powerful Touloulou, emblematic character of the Guyanese carnival (Si zot tchò feb – 2027). She also enjoys carrying out several projects aimed at specific audiences: adolescents, elderly people or people with disabilities.
